Add & Manage Email Addresses

The third tab of your Account Panel is your Email Addresses Tab. One of the features in Giver Accounts is the ability to have multiple email addresses associated with your account. Here in this tab, you'll be able to manage, add, and remove those email addresses.

Let's take a look at how this works! But first, an important question...

Why would I want more than one email address on my account?

If you're like most people, you have more than one email address. Having all your email addresses associated with your Giver Account will ensure that all your gifts given through your church's GivingFlow will be properly recorded in your account, regardless of which of your email addresses you use.

For instance, let's say you only have one email address in your account: john.smith@email.com. But, when giving through your church's GivingFlow, you input another email address at the end instead: johnrobertsmith@email.com. Because this email address isn't associated with your Giver Account, this will actually create another Giver Account, and the gift you just made won't be associated with your Giver Account under john.smith@email.com.

However, if you have both john.smith@email.com and johnrobertsmith@email.com associated with your Giver Account, then it doesn't matter which email address you input in your church's GivingFlow; your gift will be recorded correctly in your personal Giver Account.

This can also come in handy if a couple only wants to have one account, rather individual Giver Accounts for each of them. They can choose to have both of their email addresses associated with a single account, so that no matter who is giving (they can use their own person email address) their gift will be recorded under the same Giver Account. (That being said, we do recommend that each person have their own separate Giver Account for tax receipt purposes.)

Another benefit to being able to add more than one email address to your account is in the off chance that you created an account with a misspelled email address. Even though an email address might have been misspelled, you can still login with that incorrect address. At this point, you can go ahead and follow these steps to add and verify an email address (your proper one), and then follow this guide on how to change your login email address. After that, you can delete the incorrect email address from your account if you so desire.

Add an email address

To begin, you will already see one email address here: your login email. In this example, you'll see that the login email has already been verified. If yours is not, scroll down to Verify an email address section.

To add a new email address, click the Add New + button.

Next, type in your email address. Then click the Add Email button.

At this point, you'll see your newly added email address, but it has yet to be verified. Let's take a look at how to verify it.

Keep in mind...
  • You cannot add an email address that has already been added to another Giver Account. You will need to remove that address from the other Giver Account before attempting to add it to your current account.

Verify an email address

To verify an email address, you'll need to check your email inbox. At the time of adding an email address, you should have received an email from hello@rebelgive.com.

Once you find the email, click the Click to verify button. This should immediately bring you back to your personal Giver Account.

Now, anytime you donate, you can use that email address (or any other one you add to your account), and those gifts will appear in this account.

If you can't find that email, go back to your Email Addresses Tab and click the Resend Verification button. At that point, a new verification email will have been sent to your email, where you can click the button in that email.

Keep in mind...
  • Once you verify an email address, you will be unable to use that email address for another Giver Account until it has been removed from its current Giver Account.

Remove an email address

To remove an email address from your account, click the Remove button. (This can be done before or after the address has been verified.)

Keep in mind...
  • Your browser will likely show a warning to ensure you meant to click the button. Simply click the Yes or Okay button to complete the removal process.

Change your login/sign in email address

Notice how one of your email addresses says Sign In Email?

This means this is the email address you use to login to you account with. If you ever want to change your login/sign in address, follow this guide.
