Canadian Merchant Application ID Requirements

During the setup process, you'll need to fill out legal information about your church, as well as personal information about individual who is setting up the account. This information will be used to set up a merchant account that will enable you to process transactions. The reason we ask you to do this is so we can pass on even more savings to you. During the process, we'll ask you to upload two forms of ID. Please be prepared to upload two of the IDs below.

Preferred Forms of Identification (all have Photo ID and Signature):

Note: All IDs must be valid  (i.e., not expired)

1. Canadian Passport
2. Canadian Driver’s License (Note: In Quebec, this ID is completely optional.)
3. Canadian Government Issued ID Card
4. Permanent Resident Card
5. Certificate of Indian Status
6. Document or card, bearing the individual’s photograph and signature, issued by any of the following authorities:
        a. Insurance Corporation of British Columbia
        b. Alberta Registries
        c. Saskatchewan Government Insurance
        d. Service New Brunswick
        e. Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations
        f. Department of Transportation and public Works of the Province of Prince Edward Island
        g. Department of Government Services and Lands of the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador
        h. Department of Transportation of the Northwest Territories
        i. Department of Community Government and Transportation of the Territory of Nunavut

Alternate Forms of Identification:

1. Nexus Card (has Photo ID)
2. Canadian Citizenship/Naturalization Card or Certificate (photo and signature required)
3. Foreign Passport (photo and signature required)
4. Canadian Birth Certificate
5. Social Insurance Number (SIN) Card
6. Major Credit Card (signature required and must be affiliated with VISA, MasterCard, or AMEX – i.e. the logo will be on the card)
   Note: please mask or cover the middle 6 digits of the credit card number. (e.g. 5268 12XX XXXX 1234)

Limited Alternate Forms of Identification:

1. Provincial Health Card (Note: Excluded for use in Ontario, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island)
