RebelGive has partnered with CardConnect, one of the top processors in the world to securely handle all card and bank transfers. While it is very rare, you may see convenience fees temporarily charged directly to your church's bank account. 

Why does this happen?

  1. Abnormal activity verification:
    As a security measure to ensure that your church doesn't experience any fraudulent transactions, CardConnect may hold your funds for up to 24-48 hours to verify and clear any abnormal activity. 
  2. Merchant-wide funding delays:
    While not often, CardConnect will need to run updates or changes to their systems, which could put a brief hold on all gifts. 

Let's see an example:

Normally, let's say someone gives you $100.00. The flat rate card fee of 1.9% (or .25 cents for ACH) will automatically be added to the transaction, resulting in the combined total amount of $101.90. The convenience fee of $1.90 will automatically be sent directly the processor and you will receive $100.00 deposited to your bank account.

However in this case, if CardConnect needs to place a brief hold on funds, the convenience fee of $1.90 will be debited from your bank account. (Yes, we don't like this any more than you do. This is just the way the processing world works.) As soon as the funds clear (normally within 24-48 hours), you'll receive a deposit of the intended gift amount of $100.00 as well as the fee amount, bringing your total deposit to $101.90--cancelling out the earlier deduction.

In short, you can be assured that while the charges to your bank account may appear different in these verification hold cases, the donors have still covered the fees and you'll be receiving the full, intended amount as usual. 👍
